Este libro está dedicado a la historia demográfica y social de México a partir del análisis de documentos que proporcionan información de los habitantes de un lugar en un momento determinado: padrones y censos. Los padrones son listas de personas registradas por diversas instituciones con propósitos variados, en tanto que los censos tuvieron el objetivo de registrar la población de todo el país, lo cual en México fue posible a partir de 1895.

Abstract:

This book is dedicated to the demographic and social history of Mexico based on the analysis of documents that provide information on the inhabitants of a place at a given time: registers and censuses. The registers are lists of people registered by various institutions for different purposes, while the censuses had the objective of registering the population of the entire country, which in Mexico was possible as of 1895.
