Resumen:

Nuestro bagaje cultural y social nos indica que la escuela se constituye como la representación hegemónica entre los jóvenes, el paso “natural” entre la adolescencia y la edad “adulta”, así como el medio para acceder a una mejor situación económica. Sin embargo, aquí se analizan otras representaciones que determinan su permanencia efectiva en la institución, tales como los conceptos de ciudadanía, proyecto de vida y campo político.

Our cultural and social background tells us that school stands as the hegemonic representation among the youth, the “natural” step between adolescence and “adult” age, and also as the medium by means of which access to a better economic status. However, other representations are analyzed here; those which determine their permanence in the institution such as the concepts of citizenship, life project and the political sphere
